NutriHold Compounds Shown to Inhibit Some Soilborne Pathogens

An independent lab study demonstrated that NutriHold can inhibit two common soilborne pathogens

In an experiment conducted by an independent lab, NutriHold inhibited the growth of two major soilborne pathogens, Fusarium and Phytophthora

In addition to its ability to potentially improve nutrient uptake by plants and increase nutrient retention in soil, NutriHold has been shown to suppress some soilborne pathogens, possibly through competitive exclusion thanks to the beneficial microorganisms it contains.

This report was issued by an independent lab that analyzed the response of soilborne pathogens to NutriHold. Fusarium oxysporum was partially inhibited, while Phytophthora sp. was strongly inhibited.

The hypothesized explanation for this occurrence is that NutriHold's components help establish a robust population of beneficial soilborne bacteria and fungi which can colonize root systems and can outcompete pathogenic microbes. This competitive inhibition may potentially allow some farmers to reduce fungicide applications, cutting costs and further improving populations of beneficial microbes in their soil.
